El Poble Espanyol

The initial idea

Built between 1926 and 1929, the Poble Espanyol ("Spanish Village") responds to the initial idea of bringing together in the form of a "village", conceived as a single unity, representative samples of the architecture of the various regions of Spain.

The present- day space

At present, the Poble Espanyol , in addition to being an obligatory visit for anyone wanting to gain an overall vision of the different styles of architectural and urban constructions of towns and cities of the whole Spanish state, has become a meeting- place for people who also want to enjoy theatrical shows or concerts or to share a good dinner with friends in one of the Village's restaurants.
